You can install it without removing your shower curtain rod, but it looks so much nicer than a curtain hung on hooks. My visiting parents loved it and asked,  how did you install it   because the slits are essentially invisible unless you look very closely.
The clear top is also nice. It gives you privacy (although if someone is in the bathroom with you while you re showering, we can probably assume you don t need privacy from them) without making you feel isolated.
Hookless Shower Curtain is great  It is made of very thick vinyl, and is easily installed.
